A Seagull Way

 A go-it-alone person who refers cloistered places; so the choice is to escape to the mountain afar from the city. The white seagull of Esashi flies around as if he flows himself with the black wind, not going against his destiny. As represented in Kamome-shima, the small island of the white seagull is a pronoun for Esashi. The poem is titled A Seagull Way.

Misty Smoke

 In the morning mist, the houses stand side by side. Wisps of stream of Breakfast rice flowing into the air. It is a poem written from the Unesekir, located on the cliff top of Ubagami Shrine, while looking down the village below. The rich yet calm atmosphere of the village is made up by rows of merchants'' house, now known as Inishie-Kidou, or Antique Street. The poem is titled Misty Smoke.

A Proud Flower

 The spring wind is soft, yet the lingering coldness still stings. Winter still remains, as much as the snow on the ground. The year's first voice of the flowers seller spread the coming of spring throughout the village this morning. The spring comes to Esashi before anywhere else in Hokkaido, and it always begins with the voice of flower sellers. The poem is titled A Proud Flower

A Sign of Snow

 Snow cloud covers the village. The water pipe made of bamboo, which usually makes quite noise, is now frozen and soundless. Instead of the sound, now the hail is knocking the window as the sign of snow coming down later tonight. The poem is titled A Sign of Snow.

The Frozen Bell

 The moon disappeared to the west window. Even the time clocking bell sounds cold and frozen. Looking pass the last ten years, feel like it was spent dreaming in the castle if Koso. (Castle lf Koso stood during the era of the Warring States period in China where beautiful young ladies were gathered as the prize of war; a lotus land.) the poem read by a young man in self- searching on a cold night in Temple - "Hokke-ji". The poem is titled The Frozen Bell.

A Song for Mountain Sunset

 The sunset hides to the back of the mountains and skyline is now turning into purple. Deeply moved by such beautiful scenery, a team of fishermen are calling out each other to go back home. They are all eager to have a cup of sake. This poem is about scenery of Esashi, one of the most beautiful sunsets of Japan. The poem is titled A Song for Mountain Sunset.

Peaceful breeze and moon

 The moon shadow upon the sea floats clear, the wind blows soundlessly and the golden waves are no longer in motion. There is no one to whiteness such beautiful scene. The poet wishes to be alone, laying inside the rocking boat forever. The sea of Esashi is usually windy with very strong waves. That is why such beautiful view of the windless sea is especially gratifying. The poem is titled Peacceful breeze and moon.
